Надежная гербицидная защита сои

In recent years, the interest of agricultural producers in soybeans has noticeably increased. There are several prerequisites for this: firstly, a high stable purchase price for soybean grain for the food industry and feed production, secondly, the introduction of advanced soybean varieties into production, which ensured high and high-quality crop yields and expanded its cultivation area, thirdly, the introduction of new elements of agricultural technology, which also increased the productivity of this crop. The combination of the above factors ensured high margins for soybeans and contributed to a significant increase in the area under it over the past few years.
Every soybean technologist knows that this crop is quite demanding and almost always reduces productivity with a careless approach to cultivation technology. There are quite a few factors that affect the yield and quality of soybean grains. One of the main ones is weeds in crops, because soybeans are weakly competitive with weeds at the initial stages of their growth and development. The herbacritical period of culture falls on the phases of the appearance of the first or third trifoliate leaves. In order for soybeans not to experience pressure from weeds during this period, the most effective and safe for the crop will be the application of herbicides in two stages: before germination and in the vegetative crop, approximately in the period of two or three trifoliate soybean leaves. However, the application of pre-emergence herbicides in practice is not always possible, often due to weather conditions or lack of equipment, and sometimes because of the desire of the farm to save money. In this case, it remains to rely on the use of herbicides during the growing season.
Syngenta solution
Until recently, only pre-emergence herbicides GEZAGARD ® , DUAL ® Gold and GARDO ® Gold and one herbicide for the control of dicotyledonous weeds in vegetation - VIDBLOK ® Plus were presented in the product line of herbicides for soybeans until recently . In the 2021/22 season, two new products were registered - FLEX and EVENTUS ® .
WEEBLOC® Plus , a ready-to-use, two-component , mixed type weed control herbicide, is well known and proven by growers. A wide spectrum of activity of the drug is due to its active ingredients - imazetapir and propaquizafop, which provide control of both dicotyledonous and grassy weeds. In addition, thanks to imazetapir, VIDBLOK ® Plus has a pronounced residual (soil) activity and is able to provide long-term protection against subsequent generations of a wide range of dicotyledonous weeds (mountain species, white gauze, amaranth species, Theophrastus ropeweed, etc.).
WEEBLOC ® Plus is quite selective with respect to soy and is approved for use from the moment of germination to the phase of two trifoliate leaves. Optimally, dicotyledonous weeds at the time of treatment should be in the development phase of 2-4 leaves, cereals - 2-3 leaves, and perennial dicotyledons - in the rosette phase.
The consumption rate of WIDBLOC ® Plus is 1.2–2.0 l/ha, which allows farmers to approach weed control quite flexibly, focusing on the species composition and stages of growth and development of weeds in a particular field. But experts draw attention to certain limitations for the use of WEEBLOC® Plus regarding the placement of subsequent crops: in the year of application of the drug (in case of resowing), it is recommended to sow winter wheat, the next year after application - corn, spring and winter cereals, and two years later you can sow already all cultures without restrictions.
Stop the tsunami of weeds
New for 2021, the FLEX post-emergence herbicide is designed to control a wide range of dicotyledonous weeds. Its active ingredient, fomesafen, inhibits protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO-inhibitor) in sensitive plants, which leads to disruption of the integrity of cell membranes, destruction of pigments, and subsequently to leaf necrosis. Fomesafen is absorbed by leaves and partly by roots, but more effective weed control is achieved with foliar application.
The main advantages of FLEX herbicide:

-
the active substance with a pronounced contact activity practically does not cause systemic inhibition of the culture;
-
a wide range of activity against dicotyledonous weeds, including those difficult to control (ragweed ragweed, Theophrastus fungus, commeline, akalifa, black nightshade, chistets);
-
good compatibility in tank mixtures with herbicides from the groups of imidazolinones and sulfonylureas and with other active substances used on soybeans;
-
residual soil activity, which makes it possible to control repeated generations of ragweed and amaranth in the presence of moisture in the upper soil layer at the time of herbicide treatment.
FLEX is registered for use on soybeans in the 1–3 leaf phase at a rate of 1.2–1.8 l/ha. When using the herbicide within the regulations, the culture shows a high level of tolerance to the drug up to the budding phase. FLEX is recommended for use against actively growing weeds at the initial (2-4 leaves) stages of their growth and development. Since FLEX is a herbicide with a pronounced contact activity and moves to a limited extent in the plant, for reliable weed control, their leaves and axils must be evenly covered with the herbicide working solution. The recommended rate of consumption of the working fluid is at least 200 l/ha.
After treatment with FLEX on soybean leaves, burns in the form of rounded necrotic spots can often be observed, which do not affect the productivity of the crop. The optimum application temperature is from +15 to +25 ° C. Also, when using FLEX, it is imperative to add a non-ionic surfactant (adjuvant), for example, 90% isodecyl alcohol ethoxylate, to the working solution. The adjuvant is used at a concentration of 0.1% (100 ml of surfactant for every 100 liters of water used to prepare the working solution).
The FLEX preparation has a number of restrictions on the placement of subsequent crops of the rotation: soybeans and beans can be sown at any time; wheat, barley, rye - after 4 months; corn, peas - after 10 months; alfalfa, sorghum, sugar beet, sunflower and other crops - 18 months after the application of the herbicide.
Herbicide novelty 2022
The second new herbicide deserving attention of soybean growers is EVENTUS ® . The product contains bentazone and clomazone, two active substances indispensable for the successful cultivation of soybeans. Herbicide EVENTUS ® is registered with a wide range of application rates, from 1.5 to 2.5 l/ha, and has a number of advantages compared to other products on the market.

First: EVENTUS ® successfully controls the main dicotyledonous weeds in soybeans and, what is very important, white gauze, including overgrown, in the phase of 6–8 true leaves. Mary is a rather problematic soybean weed, common in all sowing zones. White gauze is a powerful plant and a serious competitor for vital factors: light, water, nutrients; often overtakes soybeans in growth and development. The control of mari, especially overgrown, is complicated by the fact that its leaves are covered with a wax coating, which makes it difficult to apply the herbicide qualitatively and slows down the penetration of active substances into the plant tissue. In addition to dicotyledonous weeds, EVENTUS ® successfully controls chicken millet and inhibits cereal weeds that are significant in soybean crops.
The second advantage of EVENTUS ® herbicide is a modern formulation, a microemulsion, which provides a high density of weed coverage with a working solution, reduces unproductive losses of the herbicide working solution, and the working solution does not delaminate and remains stable for a long time.
The next important plus is the absence of restrictions on the placement of subsequent crops of the crop rotation. With EVENTUS ® herbicide , farmers are free to choose subsequent crops. Cereals, corn, beets and other crops cultivated on the farm can be sown without fear of the aftereffect of EVENTUS ® .
It should be noted that EVENTUS ® is safe for soybeans, it can be used starting from the first trifoliate leaf of the culture. The concentration of the active ingredients of the preparation is specially selected so that the product simultaneously combines high efficiency against weeds and is safe for soybeans.
Also, EVENTUS ® is well combined in tank mixes with partner herbicides. The combined use of EVENTUS ® with herbicides FLEX, VIDBLOK ® Plus , thifensulfuron-methyl expands the spectrum of EVENTUS ® activity and enhances the effect on weeds that are problematic in soybean crops: amaranth, ragweed, black nightshade, sunflower carrion (classic, as well as resistant to sulfonylureas and imidazolinones) , perennial weeds.
